Smart Respiratory Protection:\nGuardio and Quin Introduce Guardio Aither

Båstadgruppen AB, through its Guardio brand, is proud to announce a groundbreaking step forward in respiratory safety. In a further development of the ongoing partnership with Quin, the company unveils Guardio Aither, setting a new standard for the future of respiratory protection.

Harnessing the capabilities of Quin's patented advanced motion sensor technology, the Guardio Aither is the first respiratory mask that can actively monitor the wellbeing of the wearer - detecting unresponsiveness, and dangerous coughing events, and - critically - automatically calling for help if needed.

Named after the Greek god of pure, life-giving air, Guardio Aither was developed to utilise the capabilities of Quin's sensor fusion technology to make significant improvements to workplace safety in the construction and industrial sectors.

When accidents happen, getting help as quickly as possible can make all the difference to the outcome. The Quin sensor connects with the Quin Within app on the wearer's cellphone and uses multiple algorithms specifically developed to detect dangerous safety events, leveraging Quin's AI to categorise and respond to coughing and unresponsiveness, and also head impacts from personal falls or objects falling from height and dangerous temperatures.

If safe thresholds are breached, Quin's automatic safety protocols are triggered - alerting emergency contacts, site managers and emergency services to the nature and location of the emergency.

"Guardio Aither represents an important step in our ambition to continue offering solutions that combine technology and safety in ways that make a real difference for the user. We strongly believe that connected protective equipment contributes to a safer and more secure work environment, especially for those working alone in hazardous conditions."

Nawar Toma · Product Manager at Guardio

"At Quin, we understand that technology holds the power to transform workplace safety. While we've seen brands take some early steps in the right direction, such as NFC being used for analogue identification purposes - our vision goes much further. We're committed to developing technology for safety equipment that actively and intelligently works to keep you safe."

Health and safety managers can use real-world data to make informed decisions that enhance workplace safety over the long term.
